Can you share some good advice or stories about how to work and play safely around electricity? Do you have an electrical safety question that can be answered in the next newsletter?
One bright Power Kid recently asked about some trees growing too close to overhead powerlines.
During windy conditions, tree branches can brush against powerlines, which can cause electrical sparks and start a fire.
Trees and branches can fall and break powerlines, resulting in serious injuries and damage to homes.
Always stay away from trees that are too close to overhead powerlines – otherwise, you could receive an electric shock and we want you to enjoy the WA autumn!
Please send your safety stories and questions to Socket at World of Energy, 12 Parry Street Fremantle WA 6160 or email to powerkids@westernpower.com.au
