Socket saves money and energy

I was enjoying luxuriously long, lazy showers until I calculated my annual electricity costs.

Then I discovered smart ways to save money, hot water, electricity and greenhouse gas emissions:

Socket taking a short shower

1.  Take shorter showers.

2.  Install a AAA rated water efficient showerhead (or a flow control valve) if you have a storage hot water system.

3.  Don’t leave hot water taps running (not even a little bit).

4.  Fix leaky hot water taps as soon as possible.

5.  Ask your mum or dad to set the thermostat to 60 degrees Celsius on storage hot water systems and 50 degrees Celsius on instantaneous systems.

6.  Turn off the hot water system before you go away on holidays.
