Eye see it!

Here's how to trick your brain into thinking that there is a hole in your hand.

  • Roll a piece of paper into a tube with a hole about the size of your eye socket.
  • Hold the tube in your right hand and then up to your right eye.
  • Leaving both eyes open, look through the tube. Look straight ahead and don't focus on the end of the tube.
  • Place your left hand (fingers up and palm facing you) up against the left side of the tube, just over halfway along the tube.

Wow....there's a hole in your hand!

Your right eye will see the tube and your left eye will see your hand. When the two images are combined, your brain is tricked into believing there is a hole in your hand.

Don't read the words in this list - just say the colours they're printed in.

Try to do this as fast as you can.

It's not easy!

 

 

 

 

 

The Chevreul Illusion

Lay a pencil over the edge between any two stripes and the adjoining stripes will look the same.  It's amazing!
