Solar Cookers

A solar cooker can be as simple as a  cardboard box with some insulation inside (such as aluminium foil).  Some variations have a glass window on top of the box, others use oven bags to keep in the heat.  You face the solar cooker towards the sun.

The sunlight is trapped in the solar cooker and heat builds up (this is the Greenhouse Effect).

Solar cookers reach up to 150 degrees Celsius.  You can bake a chocolate cake in a couple of hours!
