Create your own ‘Fingerprints’ book

Here is how to make a “Fingerprints” book with your family and friends.

If you study all of your fingerprints under a magnifying glass, you will see that every one is different.

No two people have the same fingerprints, which greatly helps the police to identify people.

Firstly, you will need:

  • A very soft lead pencil
  • White paper
  • Adhesive (sticky) tape
  • A magnifying glass

Using your pencil, scribble quite thickly on the white paper.

Rub your finger all over the scribble, making it very smudgy.

When your finger is very black, firmly press it onto the sticky side of a piece of adhesive tape. Do this very carefully, then you will see the outline of your unique fingerprint.

Carefully turn the adhesive tape over and stick it onto another piece of white paper.

Repeat this process with your mates and then you’ll make a fingerprint book!
